Willingness to FAIL!

It is my personal opinion that, in order to be successful, you must have been failed before!

I have failed before. I have been cheated by someone more experience then me. I lost money, I lost time and most of all, I lost my confident and self esteem.

For a period of time, I label myself as a failure!

Wound take time to heal! and confident need time to rebuild.

What happen next is, I grow stronger! wiser and better! Ha-li-lul-ya!

Many of the "e-quadrant" people wanted to break free! it is not that they are not willing to try, but unwilling to "fail".

My simple two cents advices:

1) If you have failed before in your previous business venture, congratulation! Because you had acquired the pre-requisite criteria to be success!

2) If you have not fail before, because you had not try! get ready for your failure!

3) If you have not fail before, but you are lucky to hit a jackpot in a smooth journey! becareful! when things went too smooth, you will lose your alertness!

Willingness to change

"Change is the only thing that is constant in this universe"

I went to a local corporate office recently for some official business.

For your information, I live in a society where the pace is very slow, comfortable, relax. People here enjoy a very quality life, where they can have quality family time almost everyday after their working hour.

So, I was there in the corporate office 5 minutes before 5 to settle some official business. I sit down on the officer chair and discussion, and time flies..... sharp at 5 pm, the whole office lighting was dimmed. I thought it was a power surge, but is not.

It was actually "energy saving" as ALL the worker have packed up their things and ready to leave the office. The office was completely vacant at 5:05 pm.

The employee is just doing what they should: start work on time and finish work on time.

But as a businessman myself, I hate dislike this kind of attitude. But this is the reason why people still staying at this small town instead of going to the big city for higher pay by selling more of their time. They want a COZY, COMFORTABLE and STRESS-FREE lifestyle.

While there is nothing wrong for choosing an EASY life, it's one of the biggest obstacle for such employee will become employer one day.

I am not saying that working hard and extra hours is the essential element for one to become a business person, but having enjoy the family time is the ultimate addiction that prevent you from becoming successful in your career, business and financial freedom.

What's an addiction? Drugs, Alcohol, Gambling, Smoking, Womanizing?

Definitely, those are some of the addiction that bring us major problem to our health, relationship and spiritual well-being. But beside those, do you know that most of us are actually addicted to Coffee, Tea, Soft drinks, watching Television series, Eating your favorite dish, procrastination to work, watching football matches and even browsing with our smart phone?

While those silent habit does not bring major harm to our physical, mental and spiritual health, it does take away our valuable time and a small amount of well-being, once at a time.

Recognizing the existence of those small time thieves is the first and most important milestone for once to gather their strength for higher achievement.

Willingness to change or improve those small things is the next great thing that can help you advancing your lives.

Just ask yourself, how much time have you dedicated to FaceBooking this week? Are you willing to give up Facebook-ing? Are you willing to give up smoking? Are you willing to give up Coffee, which is bad for your health in long term? Are you willing to use your time for football matches to do some productive things? such as cleaning your house or tidying your financial record?

If the answer is NO! that I can safely says that your chance of succeed is slimmer to none.

Those that have successful in the financial world have one thing is common, is that they have the willpower to succeed. And they have the realization that they need to have a habit of replacing those unhealthy, time wasting habit with productive, high level activities.

The challenge of the week:
1. Identify one of your unhealthy habit.
2. Make decision to reduce or eliminate that habit.

The lesson that I learn from jogging!

Yesterday, I finally "manage" to restart my jogging after the holiday seasons (Christmas, New Year, follow by Chinese New Year).

I am not a regular jogger.
At most, I am a casual jogger. I go for a walk or jog when I feels like it, and when I am convenient.

We know jogging is good for us, good for our health, spirit and soul. It increases the blood circulation and keep the muscle in tune. We knew that! but most of us are not exercising, at least regularly, like 2-3 times a weak.

I found the reasons while I was running for my 3 km track yesterday! I felt terrible at start, as my muscle has all tensed up. Breathing became irregular, and dizziness, heart is beating faster. In short, I doesn't feel "comfortable".

The answer that I had not jog for long time, came clear to me..... jogging is an event that will make me "uncomfortable". We, as human being, wanted to stay in the comfort zone by nature (though there are some freaks out there that enjoy suffering).

We (or I) will stop doing things that we knew it will make us uncomfortable, such as jogging, eventhough we haven't physically involve in the activity.

Wait a minute, isn't this also applicable in other area of our life? such as starting a business?

Let me ask you (the reader of this article), if you are an employee, and wanted to start a business, what goes through your mind?

1. Hardwork
2. Long Hour
3. Failure
4. Cashflow challenge
5. Difficulty in hiring people
6. Insufficient knowledge and experience.

The situation is similar to wanted to go jogging, but reluctant by the pain that we WILL experience.

Let me be honest with you: There will be pain if you are not a regular jogger and there WILL be problem when you start your business.

But let me tell you the good news......

After I jogged for the first 1 km, the irregular breath subside. I could catch my breath and slowly, getting use to the pace of my jog.

So does that when I starting my own business..... it was tough.... at first. I literally skip breakfast, lunch and dinner. trouble everywhere and the cash flow was a mess!

But as things progress, I eventually catch my breath and started to do better.

Journey of a thousand miles start with the first step.

If you wanted to start a business and have not done so..... Go for a jog today! Feel the feeling while jogging! Gain you confident! and start kicking some ass!
